Beautiful Sea Buckthorn: Skincare Benefits

Beautiful Sea Buckthorn: Skincare Benefits

These shiny orange gems, sometimes called 'Sea Berries', originate from the Himalayas and offer magical botanical properties to enhance the radiance of your skin. Discovered in centuries-old Ancient Chinese and Tibetan medicine texts, Sea Buckthorn berries were used for their healing and rejuvenating benefits and were often referred to as ‘God Sent Medicine’ or the ‘Holy Fruit of the Himalayas‘.

Here’s why they are one of nature’s most powerful plants...⁣

They are abundant in vitamin C

Sea Buckthorn berries have 14 x higher Vitamin C content than oranges! Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant and wonderful at brightening the skin, helping to reduce pigmentation⁣ and protecting the skin from free radical damage.

Uniquely high in Omega-7

These berries are rich in Omega-7, which is rarely found in the plant kingdom. Also known as Palmitoleic acid, Omega-7 helps to protect your skin from damage and encourages collagen production and skin elasticity. New studies also suggest Omega-7 is a natural anti-inflammatory and can help with wound and scar healing. Not only that, but Seabuckthorn is also one of the only sources from plants to hold all 4 omega fatty acids - Omega-7, Omega-3, Omega-6 and Omega-9.

High in vitamin A

⁣Sea buckthorn berries are rich in vitamin A from their beta-carotene content, which encourages skin cell regeneration and suppleness. Vitamin A (also referred to as retinol) is great for anti-aging or acne-prone complexions, working to even out skin tone and fine lines. Beta-carotene is what gives these berries that beautiful vivid orange colour!

High in vitamin E

Your skin will jump for joy when you replenish it with vitamin E from topical products, particularly as you age. Vitamin E helps to defend your skin from pollution and environmental stressors (something we all need!) and helps to soothe and strengthen the skin barrier. It's a powerhouse ingredient when combined with vitamin C because it is fat-soluble, meaning it can penetrate deeper into the skin, whilst vitamin C is water-soluble and will work its magic on the surface. A double whammy of goodness!

Sea buckthorn is like soothing liquid gold for your skin. Nourishing, revitalising and restorative - hello glowy complexion!
